Course Outline

Course Purpose;
To equip students with knowledge on Plant structures and functions

Expected Learning Outcomes:
At the end of the course, the learner should be able to:
1.describe different morphological and anatomical structures of angiosperm.
2.discuss the significance of different morphological and anatomical structures of angiosperm.
3.describe different physiological process in a plant.
4.discuss the significance of different physiological process in a plant.

Course Content;
Cell structure, Introduction to tissue systems. Morphology and anatomy of angiosperm root, stem and leaf. Primary and secondary growth of plants. Structure of leaf, fruit and seed. Ecological anatomy. Study of plant functions at molecular, cellular and organismic level. Seed dormancy and germination. Diffusion and osmosis. Soil-water-plant relationship. Mineral nutrition. Photosynthesis and respiration.
