Maybe you wonder why public school perform poorly in exams while private school perform excellent, here are some of possible reasons.

(1) Inadequate teachers - There is lack of enough teachers as compared to private schools to teach thus inability to cover all syllabus according to time given thus pupils lag behind schedule resulting to poor performance.
(2) Congestion- There are high number of pupils in a class as compared to private schools thus teachers are unable to mark, answer all questions from pupils thus resulting to poor performance.

(3) Inadequate learning materials/equipment/facilities - This includes lack of books, classes, library thus pupils rely on what teachers provide for them as compared to private school which are well equipped thus resulting to poor grades.

(4) Poor learning environment - This includes insecurity and poor weather conditions which hinders smooth learning and pupils miss school or are unable to concentrate thus resulting to poor performance.

(5) Mismanagement of schools - This is due to corrupt headteachers who irresponsibly use money provided by government. The core functions of learning are left unfunded after funds have been misappropriated, thus resulting to poor students' grades.
