Parents all over the world do their best to ensure that their sons and daughters receive the best in life including education. They dig deep into their pockets to make sure that their children do best in education that promise a good career in life. It is the dream of the parents to see their children ranked the best in every
exam. The government of Kenya want to reduce all these efforts to nothing.

The government of Kenya, through the minister for education, Mutula Kilonzo has warned teachers over holiday tuition. The teacher or educationist who will act contrary to this warning will face the law. According to Dr. Mark Bray, a former Director of UNESCO'S international institute for education, tuition have emerged as "global shadow education" system with roots in almost all countries. Not only in Kenya are private tuition are conducted but also in other countries like Cambodia, a country with low income, and Japan, Canada, Hong Kong and Taiwan,
countries with higher income.

Tuition have their advantages.

Tuition create time for remedial teachings. Pupils do not learn at the same rate. There are those who slowly and those who learn fast.
The teacher gets time to attend to this children giving them individual attention. This promotes performance among individual and the school in general.
According to the deputy head teacher of Central Baptists primary school, tuitions have improved the
performance of this school in the last two year and they have managed to send three
students to national schools.

Tuitions also help the teachers to complete the syllabus in time creating a room for ample
revision. The length of the term is not enough for the teachers to cover the whole syllabus that
is very long.

Private tuitions bars pupils from indulging

in wayward behavior and enable them to get the importance of education in their lives.

If the tuitions are to be banned, then the government should trim long syllabuses.
