It has been said over and over again that the population is very huge and cannot be easily catered for by the available resources in our country and this poses the question;Who is to blame, the parents or the government.I wonder who in his right state of mind would want to blame the parents but then i realize that some people have more than ten kids and they still keep reproducing. I think the bigger burden lies with the government because we have entrusted it to take care of us. The resources must be stretched so that we have each a portion of the cake. It is irrelevant anyway to play the blame game because we will either lose or the world might end with the debate still pending.Let me hypothetically use the example of the poor people in urban areas. It is a stereotype that they get many children because they are either jobless or idle for most part of their lives and so their pass time activity is making babies but is this really the case. I am forced to believe it though because most slum dwellers don''t give much attention to the number of children they get but let us not forget that to very rule there is an exception and so it is possible to find a few educated people in these areas who also have very few kids.On the side of the government, i think it is too relaxed in terms of giving better facilities to its citizens and also in allocating resources. Just recently, workers at the airport were on strike and what did Mr Naikuni do? He fired all of the workers on strike and employed foreigners to replace them. What do you think happened to the fired workers and their families? You don't have to think hard because you know what poverty can do. Anyway how many think it was a wise move? I think it was very rash and the people should have been given their demands. Lets now go to the debate on having not more than two children. Is it really logical because how can you limit an adult from having the children of their dreams. If i want to have ten children why should you stop me?I believe this is going to be practically impossible though in theory, several people will support the move. What am saying in short is that let the people decide the children they want to have but at the same time, the government should improvise on its strategies to ensure that the population is well taken care of. The government should do whatever it takes to ensure that not a single citizen is disadvantaged in any area of living due to the population issue.
