Stories about the popularity of presidential candidates are all over. The outcome of the latest polls clearly brings out Raila and Uhuru as the top candidates who have a percentage of 36 and 30 respectively. Kalonzo and Ruto are the least popular with 6% each.

In fact, the polls do not show the turn up for women aspirants for the presidential seat. Does it mean that there are no Kenyans who will vote for women presidential candidates? As Kenyans, we are supposed to vote for the e leader who we aspire, a leader with achievable goals. These polls should not interfere with our voting opinions as they are just telephone opinions. They are just from a given number of Kenyans who have been taken as a sample.

The outcome of the general elections will determine the winner. Let’s make our opinions intellectually. Tribe and popularity should not drive us. It is not late to change our voting opinions but we should change for the better. Let us vote for ambitious leaders with a high interest of developing our country. We need a leader who will develop all parts of Kenya in order to curb movements such as the MRC. As we approach the general elections we need to open up our eyes to avoid being duped by political leaders. There is nothing as worse as voting in a person just because he or she has promised heaven, only to deliver hell!
