Neocolonialism has been our dictator since Kenya became a republic in 1963. It is quite a long period. Polity has been rigid and same all through as well as the economic outcome of Kenya. Do we have to follow and stick so much to what our colonial masters taught us? Chiefs, who head locations, have been in existence since colonialism. At most, chiefs have had a poor record of performance. The greater percentage has already switched off to slumber. Many strange and heinous issues are occurring at the location levels but no one seems to be in charge. The share that is located for chiefs is a big one. If it were to be used in economic development, it would aid a bit. Our economy is deteriorating and it is accompanied by inflation. The government needs to minimize its expenses. Now that there are increments in teachers' and doctors' salaries, a huge amount of funds has to be recovered from taxes. Hiking of commodity prices will be the next option for recovering these funds if government expenditure will not be reduced. Alternative ways of recovering funds have to be raised. Economy has to be boosted and at the same time be set at equilibrium in all parts of the country. A change is as good as rest. Time for change is now or never.
