A virus is a rogue software program that attaches itself to other software programs or data files in order to be executed, often causing hardware and software malfunctions usually without user knowledge or permission. Most computer viruses deliver a "payload". The payload may be highly destructive destroying programs or data, clogging computer memory, or causing programs to run improperly. One of the worst things that would happen is if one is unable to boot in windows, even while on safe mode.
