STAKEHOLDERS IN EDUCATION

THE SOCIETY

The society wants to educate children in order to ensure that its various economic and cultural institutions are perpetuated and expanded. Its values are sheerly pragmatic. Its method is mainly competition, and its aim is to mold students into the next generation of producers and consumers. They therefore need educational measurement hence to find out how their pupils are performing in terms of specified objectives in relation to others. They need an assessment to measure the pupil''s beliefs.

THE GOVERNMENT

It wants to educate children to ensure a stable productive and powerful nation. Its method of operation is also competition in combination with mythic inspiration and moral imperatives of altruism and civil justice. It need to educate the worth of education programs and effectiveness of teachers so as to make the right selections of promotions, demotions, trainings etc. it needs to compare pupils performances in one school with other schools so as to make the right selections for centers of excellence, which schools to be given donations for example books etc.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

They want to educate children in order to bring them in the line with the wills of various lords. They operate by brokering shame and absolution. They will therefore need to know the performance of the children so as to encourage them and motivate them according to their religions.

PARENTS

They want their children to have an education so that they are equipped with skills that will allow them to leave home and flourish along the lines of their unique potentials, thus affirming the parents wisdom and sacrifice in raising them. They will therefore determine how much the pupils have learned and also be in a position to predict the pupil''s performance in future.

STUDENTS

They expect to be educated, so that they have plenty of choices in way in which to

comfortably realize the autonomy they so envied in their parents. They need to diagnose or determine their areas of difficulties in learning in order to take the corrective measure fo0r example; put more efforts I the most challenging areas or subjects.

TEACHER

They are the clossesed to the students. They would like to assess the student''s performances so as to know which areas they should put more emphasis so as to make the students understand better. They need to motivate then learners to increase their performance. They need to compare the student''s progressive performances so as to know which trend they are following “is the performance increasing or reducing?” This would enable them make plans or put relevant strategies which would ensure good performances of students.
