Kenya is my home. I am a Kenyan. They say there’s no better place than home; this is true because there is no place I would rather be than my home, Kenya. This beautiful land on the east of the African continent has many reasons to make even the meanest of persons smile and sing. My reasons why I love Kenya are; I appreciate the fact that Kenya is a country that has many communities living together in peace and unity. The communities are; Kikuyu, Kamba, Masai, Kalenjin, Kisii, Luo, Somali, Pokomo just to mention a few. The different cultures have been able to come together and live in cohesion and understanding. We are tolerant people and appreciate the fact that each community has their own traditions. Other than the indigenous people, Kenya is also home to foreigners. Chinese, Americans, Europeans and even Turkish people have settled here with their families. Kenya is a country with many diverse cultures and I love it.Kenya is a developing country. This means that even though it is not the best in the world it is trying to be. Everyday you wake up and you see roads, hospitals, schools being built. The country is developing. This country has beautiful wildlife and amazing scenery. This attracts tourists from all over the world to see this. Wildlife include; lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, rhinos, monkeys, crocodiles and giraffes. The scenery includes; the sandy beaches, the Great Rift Valley, salty and fresh water lakes, high mountains and unique vegetation i.e. the savanna grassland. This country is beautiful with amazing features. When it comes to the sport sector, Kenya is miles ahead especially athletics. We have had great athletes who have been able to set world records that have not been broken. We are a force to reckon with when it comes to the long distance running. I love our athletes and I am proud of them. They make me say am proud to be Kenyan. We also have numerous sporting events in the country; the KCB safari rally for rally drivers and The Safari-com sevens for rugby. We are a sporting nation.Kenya has had great leaders among them Wangari Mathai who won the Nobel peace prize, she was the first African woman to have won the award. We have our freedom fighters who fought for our country’s independence. It is because of them we are able to move about without fear of being detained. These are my reasons why I love Kenya.
